Common Questions
|
What does the treatment involve?
We start by going over the area with a series of small dots, introducing the Tattoo Eraser fluid. The dots are covered for about 1 hour. They will develop into small scabs then fall off. Aftercare instructions will be provided and must be followed.
Is the treatment painful?
Clients say it feels about the same or slightly less than when they had their tattoo put on. If you found the tattooing uncomfortable, than you may find the removal uncomfortable as well. Local anesthetic is available.
What will the skin look like?
The treated tattoo area will be covered with small scabs, which will drop off naturally over a 5-30 day period. The treated areas will look very pink so you must allow time for this to heal before additional treatments. By treating small areas at a time we are allowing the body to heal quicker.
How long does the tattoo eraser treatment take?
The length of treatment is determined by the size of the tattoo. Smaller tattoos take less time. Larger tattoos can be treated for up to one hour per sitting. It may take additional sittings to treat an entire tattoo.
How much will it cost?
Treatment is charged per 50-minute session.
Is there an alternative?
The only real alternative is laser removal. This is an expensive, aggressive and evasive method of removal. Also it is not very effective. Lasers are unable to deal with all colors of tattoos and have the reputation of leaving ink, scarring, and pigmentation problems. There is also some concern about the toxins of the tattoo ink being pushed into the skin during laser removal. The Tattoo Eraser treatment works in a different way and therefore eliminates this problem.
How will I know if I’m suitable for treatment?
The initial consultation will determine this. There are not many contraindications to treatment. If you had no ill effects during or after getting your tattoo, you should be suitable for treatment. We can even treat you if you have already tried alternative removal methods, but a patch test will be recommended on your first visit.
Will it leave a scar?
There is a minimal risk for scarring with the tattoo eraser treatment. Having the tattoo itself causes trauma to the skin and can leave a scar. This scarring is not always evident until the color has been removed. Tattoo Erasers will restore the skin to virtually its pre-tattoo condition providing the client adheres to the aftercare advice given. You can even have another tattoo put on once the old one is removed and healed!
What types of tattoo can be treated?
All ages, sizes, and styles of tattoos can be removed. Our treatment does not recognize the color of the tattoo, only the ink. Older tattoos can be more stubborn due to the depth they were applied, but they can still be removed.
Don’t forget, Tattoo Eraser can be successful where laser treatment hasn’t worked!
